1. Overview
This Refund Policy is part of the MacMiniNode Terms of Service. It explains how refunds work for our monthly dedicated Mac mini subscriptions. Nothing in this policy limits any rights you have under applicable consumer-protection law that cannot be excluded by agreement.
2. Monthly subscriptions and partial periods
Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance. Because your Machine is dedicated to you and held for you for the whole Billing Period, we do not issue refunds or credits for partial Billing Periods, including when you cancel part-way through a period, stop using the Machine, or your Subscription is terminated for breach of the Terms or Acceptable Use Policy. The only exceptions are those required by applicable law or described elsewhere in this policy.
When you cancel renewal, your Machine remains available until the end of the period you have paid for and no further charges are made.
3. Failed provisioning before activation
You will not be charged a Subscription fee for a Machine that is never activated. If we are unable to prepare and activate a Machine for you after you place an order, for example because hardware becomes unavailable, the order is cancelled and no Subscription fee is due. If any amount was captured in error before activation, it will be refunded in full to the original payment method.
A small temporary card verification may be performed by our payment processor when you save a payment method. This is not a charge and is released automatically by your card issuer. [Confirm verification amount and release timing with Helcim]
4. Billing errors
If we charge you incorrectly, for example a duplicate charge, a charge after a correctly processed cancellation, or an amount that does not match the price you agreed to, we will correct the error and refund the difference to your original payment method once it is confirmed. Please tell us within 60 days of the charge so that we can investigate promptly; we will still review reports received later in good faith.
5. Service interruptions
The Service is provided without a guaranteed uptime commitment. Short interruptions for maintenance or due to events outside our control do not qualify for refunds. If a hardware or facility fault makes your Machine unavailable for an extended period and we cannot restore access or provide a replacement Machine within a reasonable time, we may, at our discretion, offer a pro-rated credit or refund for the affected period.
Legal review: Decide whether a defined outage threshold and credit schedule will be offered, and align this section with Section 14 of the Terms of Service.
6. Your statutory rights
If you are a consumer in a jurisdiction that grants a statutory cooling-off period or other non-excludable refund rights, those rights apply in addition to this policy. Where you have a right to cancel within a cooling-off period and have asked us to begin preparing your Machine during that period, we may deduct an amount proportional to the service provided before cancellation, to the extent permitted by law. [Confirm consumer cancellation rights by jurisdiction with counsel]
7. How to request a review
- Sign in and open a support ticket from your dashboard, choosing the “Billing” category, or contact us through the support ticket system in your dashboard (see the Support page) if you cannot access your account.
- Include the date and amount of the charge, the email address on your account, and a short description of the issue.
- We will acknowledge your request, investigate, and reply with a decision. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method; depending on your card issuer they can take several business days to appear.
8. Chargebacks
Please contact us before disputing a charge with your card issuer so that we can resolve the issue directly. If a chargeback is filed for a charge that was valid under the Terms of Service, we may suspend access to your Machine while the dispute is open and may recover any costs we incur. [Confirm chargeback handling with payment processor and counsel]
9. What this policy does not cover
- Fees paid to third parties, such as AI tool subscriptions, API usage, Apple Developer Program membership, or software licenses.
- Loss of data stored on a Machine. Backups are your responsibility; see the Terms of Service.
- Dissatisfaction with third-party software performance or compatibility on macOS.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. Changes apply to charges made after the new version takes effect, and the version identifier at the top of this page will change.
